LUCIDAL is shaping up to be an event not to be missed. So what are you waiting for?

We are thrilled to announce a night that will showcase amazing artists raising funds for an exciting new theatre company and their upcoming inaugural production, “interrogation”.

Lucidal with feature the glorious tenor Gwyndaf Jones, recipient of the prestigious Blue Ribband award (Singer of the World competition) and former guest artist with the Welsh National Opera Company, English National Opera Company and the San Francisco Opera Company. Jones has brought together a breath taking selection of artists who will perform Classical and Music Standards throughout the evening.

Guests include emerging artists Milena Gajic (Feuchtwanger Piano Duo) just returning from an acclaimed European tour, Lorena Tosoni, (Brampton Lyric Opera), Brian Zanier (Windsor Symphony), Alde Calongcagong (Royal Conservatory of Music) and Larry Lewis.

Our host for the evening will be the extremely talented cast member of “interrogationAlex Dallas (“gutsy and intelligent” Vancouver Courier), who will deliver her charm and bravado in a night that is not be missed. “Alex Dallas is so engaging, she can interest audiences in her last biopsy!” The Edmonton Journal.

All monies from the Benefit Concert will go towards the inaugural production of Fairly Lucid Productions award winning “interrogation” scheduled for Spring, 2009.

LUCIDAL BIOGRAPHIES


ALDE CALONGCAGONG

Alde completed his Bachelor of Music in piano performance form the University of Windsor. He later continued graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario. Alde has been active as a collaborative artist where he has performed throughout Michigan, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. Currently he is an examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music and is also the director of music at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Windsor.


ALEX DALLAS

Alex Dallas was born and raised in the UK, and immigrated to Canada in 1994. She now lives in Toronto. She has performed in many Edinburgh Fringe Festivals since 1982 and virtually every fringe festival in Canada since 1990, mostly with the raucously popular comedy troupe of "Sensible Footwear". She has also had David Cassidy, backstage at a chat show, tell her about his drug problems, she's shared a joint with Jack Nicholson, reassured Sting on his acting abilities on the set of Quadrophenia. No one needs to reassure Alex of her acting abilities, she has successfully toured shows from Toronto to Adelaide, Australia, and selling out everywhere she has performed.

MILENA GAJIC

Milena Gajic, piano teacher and performer, began her musical training in piano at the age of six and finished her studies with a Masters Degree in Musical Arts from the University of Belgrade. She has received many honors and her students have been awarded at various international competitions in Europe (Italy, Switzerland, France). Milena has been teaching and performing on three different continents: Europe, South America and North America.

In 1996 she performed Liszt’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in E flat major with the Symphony Orchestra of Radio and TV Serbia with maestro Jurij Aliev, and Haydn’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in D major with Academy of Arts Orchestra Novi Sad, conducted by maestro Mladen Jagust. She has given over 50 solo Concerts and recorded for radio and television.

Milena Gajic is a registered piano teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Currently she teaches piano, theory of music, sight-reading and keyboards at her piano studio in Toronto, Canada. The studio is open to children of all ages as well as adults. She emphasizes the importance of teaching music to young children using creative, fun and contemporary techniques.

Ms. Gajic also has an international career playing concerts and recording, most recently with pianist Sanja Stefanovic(Germany) as part of the Feuchtwanger Piano Duo.

GWYNDAF JONES

Gwyndaf was born in Llanfairpwll, North Wales where he began his vocal training both with his mother, Elizabeth Jones and the late bass baritone, Frank Daniels. In 1987 he won the prestigious Blue Ribband award in the Singer of the World competition held in Cardiff, Wales, which also awarded him a scholarship to the Guild Hall School of Music in London, England. Gwyndaf has performed as a lead tenor for the Welsh National Opera Company, English National Opera Company and the San Francisco Opera Company. He continues to perform throughout Toronto and is pleased that this coming year he will be joining the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir as a featured soloist

BRIAN ZANIER

A native of Windsor, Ontario, he holds degrees from the University of Windsor and McGill specializing in trumpet performance and music education. He frequently performs with the Windsor Symphony, Windsor Light Opera and as a freelance trumpet player in the Windsor-Detroit area. Brian is also the trumpet instructor at the University of Windsor School of Music and heads the Music Department at Assumption College Catholic High School. Of all his accomplishments so far, he is most proud of his three children that he shares with wife Julie.
